The Lone Ranger is a fictional masked ex-Texas Ranger who, with his Native American companion Tonto, fought injustice in the American Old West. He first appeared in 1933 in radio and a popular television show that ran from 1949 to 1957 - Wikipedia

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were traveling through the hill country of New Mexico. They were following a route through a narrow, steep-sided canyon when all of a sudden, a rock slide blocked their progress. Seeing that they couldn’t continue forward, they turned around to go back out. Just as they got turned around, another rock slide, bringing down debris and scrub brush blocked their exit.

The Lone Ranger examined the sides of the canyon to see if there was an easier way out. Up on the rim of the canyon he saw an Indian appear with a bow and arrow. Then anther appeared with a spear. Then another and another popped up until the whole rim of the canyon was lined with armed Indians.

The Lone Ranger turned to Tonto and said, “Looks like we’re in for a fight.” To which Tonoto replied, “What do you mean, ‘we’ Paleface?”
